PEACEFUL LIVING PRACTICAL ADVICE: FLUSH THE TOILET

Have you ever had your toilet to overflow only to find out that the reason it did was because something was clogged or backed up? In life we have all experienced a toilet overflowing, ruining everything around it and quite honestly, it feels nasty to have to clean it up but somebody’s gotta do it! The result of not cleaning it up or prolonging the work leaves a stinch that is hard to get rid of. The area can easily become contaminated which leads to an unhealthy environment to function in.

The concept of “FLUSH THE TOILET” as it relates to peaceful living is that in life and relationships people bring baggage to the table, old memories, hurts, soul ties, preferences, disappointments, associate, opinions, etc… things that have shaped how we interact with one another, sometimes in a negative aspect. These past ways of thinking can get so backed up that everything around us will start ”stinking” and create an unhealthy lifestyle. And that’s not good.

I encourage couples that I counsel, people that I assist in life, MYSELF and my family to flush the toilet daily. That means that I don’t allow offenses to get clogged up in my heart which could block the flow of my peace. When my wife and I have a situation that demands attention and maybe even an apology, we resolve our issue and “flush the toilet” to keep our hearts pure toward one another. That keeps out unforgiveness, resentment, anger, revenge, hatred, malice, strife, confusion etc…

Peaceful living requires us to walk in God’s love which keeps no record of suffered wrongs (1 Cor. 13). If you practice this simple principle daily, I guarantee you that it will keep the chaos OUT of your life. Be Blessed.
